ONiO — Brand Platform for Batteryless IoT Technology

To position ONiO and establish the brand in the market, we saw a need for clear communication and engaging storytelling, and an intuitive, visually strong website where the brand could live and grow.

ONiO’s technology is intricate down to the smallest detail, so we set out to make the technical language understandable to most people. We had to be both precise and creative in the copy, explaining ONiO to engineers and potential investors, while visualising the abstract world of ambient energy harvesting and what a world without batteries could look like.

ONiO specialises in self-powered microcontrollers that run on nanowatts harvested from their surroundings. This is an industry where visual storytelling is often overlooked or not prioritised, and we saw an opportunity to create a platform that breaks with the norms of the B2B semiconductor category and places ONiO in a B2C visual landscape. This made it possible to show the consumer products the technology could be built into.

We created a visual universe with ONiO at its centre, where the brand could present its vision through focused content and data, telling the story of its ambition both verbally and visually.

The new website gave the brand a thoughtful and intuitive UX narrative. We also developed a visual 3D universe that supports ONiO as a brand and conveys its vision and ambitions for the future.
