The timeless adventure of Neverland meets global hitmakers Stargate, as Nonspace creates a campaign to launch Nye Hjorten Teaters grand opening premiere.
About the project
Nye Hjorten Teater is a newly opened folk theatre in the heart of Trondheim, offering high-quality entertainment under the playful motto “Saturday all week”. Combining bold architecture, modern stage technology, and a welcoming atmosphere, the theatre presents a wide-ranging program of musicals, comedy, drama, and family shows. Founded by Ole Robert Reitan in collaboration with Mads Bones, Kyrre Havdal, and Olve Løseth, it builds on the legacy of Trondheim’s original Hjorten Theatre while creating a vibrant new cultural hub for the city.
Peter Pan – Stargate to Neverland was the ambitious opening musical of the brand new theatre in Trondheim. Loosely based on J.M. Barrie’s classic story, the production blends the timeless adventure of Peter Pan and a punchy Neverland universe, with music by Stargate - the global music producers behind some of the biggest hits of the 2000s, which originated in Trondheim - under the direction and script of Mads Bones, Kyrre Havdal, and Olve Løseth.
Nonspace was asked to set the stage for Nye Hjorten Teater — creating a campaign and experience to reveal and build excitement around the opening show and placing the new theatre on the map.
Nye Hjorten Teater wanted to position itself as a bold, modern stage for large-scale productions that connect with both theatre lovers and new audiences.
The challenge was to translate the Peter Pan story into a visual and emotional universe that could carry the energy of a pop concert, the wonder of theatre, and the brand expression of a new cultural institution — all within a single experience.
With the planning and production of the musical itself in its early stages, one of the challenges was to create a universe representable of the actual play to be produced, well before the play, script, costumes and the theatre building itself was finalised.
Nonspace developed the creative concept, campaign identity, and audience experience for Peter Pan – Stargate to Neverland, blending theatre, music, and design into a coherent narrative journey.
- Visual identity & campaign: A bold, cinematic look combining Neverland’s sense of flight and fantasy set to the rich music catalog from Stargate.
- Digital storytelling: A campaign ecosystem built for social media, video, and digital platforms to expand reach and anticipation around the production.
- Media strategy: A coordinated launch across print, digital outdoor, and digital channels, combining high-impact visuals, motion, and sound to capture attention and drive ticket sales.
A campaign built in stages building up to the moment where the announcement of the play and the cast was revealed through a press event. From teasers with subtle hints to the magical universe of Peter Pan set in Trondheim, to a launch film and a subsequent campaign pushing ticket sales running up to the actual premiere.
Every touchpoint was designed to reinforce the feeling of entering a modern fairytale — from teaser films and digital trailers to digital outdoor.
The result was a fully integrated launch moment — positioning both the production and the theatre as imaginative, ambitious, and culturally relevant stage in the heart of Trondheim.
The campaign established Nye Hjorten Teater as a new creative force in Trondheim’s cultural scene, and drew significant attention from both media and audiences.
Ticket sales exceeded expectations in the first weeks after launch, and Peter Pan – Stargate to Neverland became the theatre’s defining debut — proving how strong creative storytelling can build a brand experience around a performance.
